Fredericton, NB – 2025 – Eastern College is proud to introduce the new Graphic Design Using AI + Internship diploma, delivered in a focused 37-week format. Offered online through Remote instructor led classes held on a set schedule using live video, this program provides structured, interactive learning while allowing students to train from home. Based on a refined program model developed within triOS Education Group, this diploma brings a modern, accelerated graphic design pathway to students in Atlantic Canada, combining strong design principles, AI supported production tools, and real workplace experience.

As part of Eastern College’s Business program suite, this diploma is designed for students who want a focused pathway into professional graphic design. The curriculum reflects current employer expectations, combining technical proficiency, applied AI knowledge, portfolio development, and structured workplace experience to help graduates transition confidently into creative roles.

A Focused, Career Ready Design Pathway

Today’s employers are looking for designers who understand visual communication fundamentals, can work confidently across print and digital environments, and know how to use AI tools responsibly to support creativity and production.

This 37-week diploma provides a concentrated graphic design pathway. Unlike the combined Digital Marketing and Graphic Design Using AI diploma, which includes broader marketing strategy and analytics training, this program focuses specifically on design, creative production, portfolio development, and applied workplace experience.

Students complete 29-weeks of remote learning followed by an 8-week internship. This structure allows them to build strong foundations while transitioning directly into real industry environments.

Program Highlights

The updated diploma integrates modern tools and techniques with strong design theory and professional development. New and enhanced courses include:

  • Generative AI for Design, where students learn how to develop effective prompts, refine AI generated outputs, and apply ethical and legal considerations in creative work
  • Designing Websites with Artificial Design Intelligence, focused on building clean, user friendly websites using ADI tools with no coding required
  • Motion Graphics and Video Editing, introducing essential animation and video editing techniques for digital platforms
  • Business and Entrepreneurship, preparing graduates for freelance or independent careers through training in rates, contracts, client management, and financial basics

Students also complete core design and production courses including Adobe Photoshop with Generative AI, Illustrator, InDesign, Print Design, Logo and Identity Design, and a dedicated Portfolio for Graphic Designers course.

A defining feature of this new diploma is the integrated 8-week internship. Students apply their creative and technical skills in professional settings, gain exposure to real workflows, and strengthen their portfolios through meaningful, real-world projects.

Career preparation is embedded throughout the program. Students complete structured career planning courses that include resume development, LinkedIn profile refinement, interview preparation, and job search strategies. By graduation, students have hands on industry experience, a polished professional portfolio, and the confidence to transition directly into the workforce.

Michelle King-Tracey, Faculty Head for Digital Marketing and Graphic Design and Corporate Brand Manager for triOS Education Group, shared:

Our new Graphic Design Using AI + Internship diploma at Eastern College reflects how the industry operates today. Students develop strong design foundations, gain practical experience using AI tools responsibly, and complete a meaningful internship that bridges classroom learning with professional practice. The goal is clear, to graduate designers who are confident, capable, and ready to contribute from day one.

This new diploma reinforces Eastern College’s commitment to practical, career focused education and provides a direct route into creative roles across agencies, studios, in house marketing teams, and freelance environments.
