Qualifying Areas of Study for International Students
International students are eligible to enroll in any Eastern College diploma program in our New Brunswick and Nova Scotia campuses.
As a private career college, international graduates of select programs at our New Brunswick campuses are eligible to apply for the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot upon graduation. It is an immigration pathway for international students who graduate from select one-year and two-year programs of study that lead to careers in priority occupations in Education and Social Development, in Health, in IT and Cybersecurity, in Business Administration, and in Supply Chain and Logistics. International graduates of private educational institutions who are not currently eligible for the federal Post-Graduation Work Permit Program will be eligible to work and live in the province and obtain permanent residency.
On the other hand, Nova Scotia’s Provincial Nominee Program is expanding its International Graduates in Demand stream to include pharmacy technicians. Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician program can apply for both a work permit and permanent residency in Canada even before obtaining work experience. Pharmacy techinicians play a vital role in Canada’s healthcare system. Under the guidance of licensed pharmacists, they support pharmacy operations to enhance patient health through efficient and precise drug dispensing. Eastern College’s Pharmacy Technician program has received full accreditation from the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs for a five-year term, spanning from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027, in Halifax. Furthermore, our classrooms are designed to replicate real-world pharmacy settings and come with relevant equipment.
Qualifying Areas of Study
If you are enrolled in one of the qualifying programs for the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot, you must be present in person and attend classes on campus. While online delivery is available for many Eastern College programs, this modality does not provide international graduates with the eligibility to apply for the aforementioned immigration pathway upon completion of their programs.
This program is focused on specific occupations and Eastern College is proud to offer the majority of the qualifying areas of study that include a pathway to these targeted occupations.
The following Eastern College diploma programs qualify for the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot:
