Embracing Change at Eastern College
October 12th, 2021 / By Eastern College
Nicole P. is a graduate of the Supply Chain and Logistics diploma program at Eastern College. Nicole knew she needed a change, but wasn’t sure about the direction she would go in when she arrived at Eastern. The Supply Chain and Logistics program provides students with a well-rounded exposure to the different areas of the supply chain sector and the skills needed to be successful in the industry. This program is ideal for someone who enjoys working on teams, can adapt to a changing environment, and likes to stay organized. The following is a testimonial from Nicole detailing her experience in the program and how Eastern College helped find the right career for her:
“Making the choice to go back to school is not always an easy one. Knowing that a change was needed pushed me to start looking at options. Not really knowing where to start took me to Eastern College. I went in to discuss options without really knowing what I wanted to do.
The career counselor was patient and helpful with showing me options and making suggestions. She was the one who suggested the Supply Chain and Logistics Program as it provided a wide range of options upon completion of the program.
I felt comfortable to be able to be myself, ask questions and learn at my comfort level. The staff was always there to help, encourage and provide guidance when and where needed. I truly feel that Eastern College was the right choice for me as a mature student going back to school after raising a family and working a seasonal job for 16 plus years.
I am now working for an international company as a Raw Material Coordinator. This is a job I truly enjoy doing and look forward to each day. My job is ever-changing and evolving with many opportunities ahead of me. I would never have been able to secure this job without my education from Eastern College.
Also thanks to Eastern College and their joint effort with Supply Chain Canada, I am working on my SCMP Designation.”
Eastern College makes it possible for students to choose their ideal career by working with instructors who are well experienced and have worked in their respective fields. Students also get to have a real-life glimpse into the field with a 16-week internship opportunity. Internships are a great way for students to put their learned theory into practice and start to interact with professionals within the industry. Students and graduates of Eastern College will be supported by our Career Services department when the time comes to find their first job after school. With resume building assistance, interview preparation and more each graduate will be ready for success.
