Your Funding Options

At Eastern College, we believe in making education accessible to everyone. That’s why we offer a variety of flexible payment options to suit your financial needs.

Self-pay

For students choosing to pay out of pocket, you can spread the cost of your program through quarterly installments or equal monthly payments. To make this process seamless, simply set up a pre-authorized bank withdrawal or credit card withdrawal.

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)

An RESP is a fantastic long-term savings plan designed to help families save for a child’s post-secondary education, whether at trade schools, colleges, universities, or apprenticeship programs. Remember, adults can also open an RESP for their own education!

Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)

Take advantage of the Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP), which allows you to withdraw up to $10,000 each calendar year from your RRSP to fund full-time training or education for yourself or your spouse/common-law partner.

Training and Skills Development New Brunswick

The Training and Skills Development (TSD) program offers selective grants to individuals who meet specific criteria, aiming to help clients access training or educational programs that lead to swift employment. TSD may fund a portion of your educational and living costs, so contact your local office today!

Employment Nova Scotia – Skills Development

The Skills Development (SD) program supports unemployed participants who qualify under the Labour Market Development Agreement (LMDA) by providing training to acquire essential skills for employment. ENS may also assist with funding your educational and living costs—reach out to your nearest office for more details!

Skills Development PEI

The Training PEI program is crafted to help job seekers gain the necessary skills and education for sustained employment. Financial support is available for completing a post-secondary certificate or diploma program, so connect with your local office to see how they can assist you.

Veterans Affairs
Eligible veterans can receive funding for formal education and training programs to further their education at a post-secondary level. Each veteran must develop and submit an Education and Training Plan before commencing their educational journey.

National Student Loan Service Centre

Nova Scotia Financial Assistance Program

The federal and provincial governments collaborate to help students who may not have sufficient family resources to cover their educational costs. For more information, call toll-free: 1-800-565-8420 or 902-424-8420.

New Brunswick Financial Assistance Program

The Government of Canada and New Brunswick join forces to provide financial assistance for post-secondary education. With just one application each year, you can qualify for loans, grants, and bursaries from both governments. Contact them at 1-800-667-5626 for details.

Windmill Microlending

In partnership with a registered charity, we enable skilled immigrants and refugees to access microloans of up to $15,000 to obtain the Canadian licensing or training required to further their careers. Empowering newcomers for economic success, these microloans provide a pathway to educational opportunities.

Student Line Of Credit 

Most major banks and credit unions offer student lines of credit to finance your post-secondary education. Our Financial Aid Officers can connect you with financial institutions to learn more.

Employer and Union-Sponsored Education Programs 

Many employers and unions provide education assistance and tuition reimbursement for employees and their families. Be sure to check with your employer or your parent’s employer(s) for available programs.

Out Of Province Students

Financial assistance may also be available for out-of-province students who qualify. For a list of provincial offices, visit the Government of Canada CanLearn website.

Monthly Payment Plan

We offer customizable monthly payment plans that fit your budget. Tuition and material costs can be divided into manageable monthly payments throughout your program. The first payment is due on the first day of classes, with the final payment due approximately one month before you complete your studies.

Plus, payments are interest-free while you remain an active student, and all students are automatically eligible for monthly payment plans with no credit check or co-signer required.

Eastern College accepts the following methods of payment:

  • Pre-authorized bank withdrawals (for monthly payment plans)
  • Pre-authorized credit card payments (for monthly payment plans)
  • Credit cards: Visa or Mastercard
  • Debit cards (interact direct payment)
  • Secure online credit and debit payments through the eastern college student web portal
  • Cheques, money orders and cash
