Immigration Pathway Streams

New Brunswick 

As a private career college, international graduates of select programs at our New Brunswick campuses are eligible to apply for the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot upon graduation. It is an immigration pathway for international students who graduate from select one-year and two-year programs of study that lead to careers in priority occupations in Education and Social Development, Healthcare, IT and Cybersecurity, Business Administration, and Supply Chain and Logistics.

International graduates of private educational institutions who are not currently eligible for the federal Post-Graduation Work Permit Program will be eligible to work and live in the province and obtain permanent residency.

Step 1. Accept an offer of employment

Step 5. Receive a nomination and work permit support letter from GNB

Step 6. Submit your Work Permit (T13) application to IRCC

Step 7. Submit your PR application to IRCC

Step 8. Confirm your employment and maintained nomination, Receive a decision from IRCC

Nova Scotia

The International Graduates in Demand Stream is for recent international graduates whose skills and education match specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) job categories. Eastern College offers Pharmacy Technicians (NOC 32124) and Nurse Aides, Continuing Care Assistants (NOC 33102).

To be eligible for this stream you must:

  • have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in a job category listed above that corresponds with your recent field of study;
  • be 19 to 55 years old;
  • have a high school diploma;
  • have met requirements for completing a program of study at an eligible Nova Scotia designated learning institution within three years of your application. The program must have been at least 30 weeks in length. You must have completed at least 50% of the program in Nova Scotia.
  • have certifications issued by NS regulatory bodies required for the job;
  • prove language ability equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5;
  • show enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia.

Step 2. You will either be nominated or refused

Step 3. Ask for a Letter of Support for your Temporary Work Permit

Step 4. Apply for permanent residence

Step 5. Tell province when you become a permanent resident
